Academics & Athletics
The Chicago 2016 Olympic Challenge After-School Scholarship Program. This program is in collaboration with After School Matters (ASM) an Illinois Charity headed by Maggie Daley. There are few if any after-school programs in Chicago that provide apprenticeship opportunities combined with academic enrichment programs for under-served high school students. Our scholarship provides daily programming for high school students during out-of-school crime-time hours and on weekends.

With the goal of providing high school teens with apprenticeship opportunities, ASM provides participants with a stipend as they train to improve their tennis skills as well as train to officiate during the Chicago Public Schools elementary interscholastic competition. Academic assistance in Writing, English, Science, Math and ACT Preparation is provided during the week. Additionally, students will train and drill on the tennis court to improve their tennis skills. During selected Saturdays, students will participate in Life Skills Training, College Workshops and Youth Development Open Forums where discussions concerning important teen issues will be discussed.
